Private Equity

We partner with private equity firms in two ways: building their own investment teams, and appointing the finance leaders who run their portfolio companies.

For investment teams, we recruit investment directors, associates and analysts, along with corporate finance and M&A professionals. We look for people who combine strong technical and deal experience with the judgement and character to fit a small, close-knit team.

Across the portfolio, the CFO and finance team are central to delivering the value-creation plan. We work with investors and portfolio company CEOs to appoint permanent and interim CFOs, finance directors and financial controllers who can step in quickly and deliver against the investment thesis. Much of this work is interim: experienced CFOs placed for around 12 months, often to prepare a business for sale by strengthening reporting, leading due diligence and supporting management through the transaction.

We first worked with one Irish business while it was still owner-managed, placing its Chief People Officer. When a UK private equity firm invested and the business began to grow fast internationally, we partnered with the CPO and the PE firm to appoint a new CFO. We already knew the business, its culture and its people, which made for a smooth search.
